Tvento: TV Remote & Cast
Last updated: 10 October 2026
1. WHO WE ARE
Tvento ("the app", "we", "us") is an Android app that turns your phone into a
remote control for your TV and lets you cast your own photos, videos and
playlists to a TV on your Wi-Fi network.

App ID: com.tvento.tvremote
This policy explains what information the app uses, where it goes, and what
choices you have.
2. THE SHORT VERSION
- There is no account. You are never asked for your name, e-mail address or
phone number.
- Your photos, videos and files are never uploaded to us. When you cast, they
travel from your phone to your TV over your own Wi-Fi.
- The TVs you save, your settings and your playlists stay on your phone.
- The app is free and shows ads. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. Usage
statistics and remote settings are provided by Google Firebase. These
Google services receive device identifiers (such as the Android advertising
ID) and basic usage data. Section 4 lists exactly what.
- The app contains no TV channels and no content of its own. Live TV is
"bring your own playlist".
3. INFORMATION THAT STAYS ON YOUR PHONE
The app stores the following on your device only. It is not sent to us.
- Settings: language, light or dark theme, haptic feedback, auto-reconnect,
cast quality, and whether you finished the welcome screens.
- Saved TVs: the name, network address, brand and model of each TV you
connected to, its hardware (MAC) address when known, and the pairing keys
or tokens the TV issued so you do not have to pair again.
- Recently cast: the title of items you cast recently, and for live channels
the channel address and logo address.
- Live TV: the names and web addresses of the playlists you add, the channel
list read from them, and your favourite channels. A playlist address may
itself contain a username or password given to you by your provider; it is
kept on your phone only.
- Temporary files: resized pictures, converted videos and rendered document
pages that the app prepares so your TV can play them. They are kept in the
app's private cache.
You can delete all of this at any time by removing items inside the app, by
clearing the app's storage in Android settings, or by uninstalling the app.
Depending on your device settings, Android's backup feature may copy the
app's data to your Google account. That is controlled by Android, not by us.
4. INFORMATION COLLECTED BY THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The app includes software from Google. When it runs, that software sends
information from your device to Google. We do not receive your name or contact
details from these services.
4.1 Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) and Google's consent form (UMP SDK)
Used to show ads and to ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Google collects:
- IP address, from which an approximate location can be derived
- app interactions such as app launches, taps and video views
- diagnostic information such as launch time, hang rate and energy usage
- the Android advertising ID and the app set ID
Purposes: showing and measuring ads, analytics, fraud prevention and
security. Ad requests from the app are sent with the "non-personalized ads"
flag set.
4.2 Google Firebase Analytics
Used to understand which parts of the app are used so we can fix and improve
them. Collects an app-instance ID, the advertising ID (where available),
approximate location derived from the IP address, device and app details
(model, Android version, app version, language, country) and events.
The events we record are: which screen was opened, that a consent form was
shown or completed, and ad impressions and clicks. They do not include your
name, the names of your files, the name or address of your TV, or your
playlist addresses.
4.3 Google Firebase Remote Config and Firebase Installations
Used to switch ad settings and features on or off without an app update.
This sends a Firebase installation ID together with country, language, time
zone, Android version and app version to Google.
4.4 How Google uses this data
Google acts as a service provider for Analytics and Remote Config. For
AdMob, Google acts for itself and its advertising partners. See:
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- How Google uses data from apps that use its services:
https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- Firebase privacy information: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
5. WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT
- We do not collect your name, e-mail address, phone number or postal
address, and we do not run user accounts.
- We do not collect your precise location. The app does not request the
location permission.
- We do not read your contacts, calendar, messages or call history.
- We do not use your camera or microphone.
- We do not upload, copy or view your photos, videos or files.
- We do not see which playlists you add or which channels you watch.
6. PERMISSIONS THE APP ASKS FOR
- Internet, network state, Wi-Fi state and multicast: to find your TV on your
network, talk to it, and reach the Google services in section 4.
- Photos and videos (Android 13+: READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO and
READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED; Android 12 and lower: storage): to show
your gallery so you can choose what to cast. Items are read on your phone
and sent to your own TV only. On Android 14 and later you may allow access
to selected photos only.
- Notifications (Android 13+): to show the ongoing "Casting" notification.
Casting works without it.
- Foreground service (media playback) and wake lock: to keep a cast running
while the app is in the background or the screen is off. Active only during
a cast.
- Advertising ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID): used by Google
AdMob and Firebase as described in section 4.
- Google Play billing (com.android.vending.BILLING): reserved for possible
optional paid features. The app does not sell anything at the time of
writing. If that changes, payments are handled by Google Play and we never
see your card details.
You can withdraw any permission at any time in Android settings.
7. YOUR LOCAL NETWORK AND FILE SHARING
- To find TVs, the app sends discovery messages on your Wi-Fi (for example
SSDP/UPnP multicast and requests to devices on your local network) and
reads the descriptions they return. This stays inside your network.
- To cast, your phone temporarily acts as a small web server on your Wi-Fi.
Each shared file is published under a long random address, and nothing else
on your phone is reachable. The server is only running while you cast or
share.
- While sharing is on, anyone connected to the same Wi-Fi network who has
that address can open the shared items. Only share on networks you trust.
- Local traffic uses ordinary HTTP because TVs require it. It does not pass
through our servers.
8. LIVE TV AND PLAYLISTS (BRING YOUR OWN)
The app is a player. It does not provide, host or recommend channels. When
you add a playlist, your phone (and your TV when you cast it) connects
directly to the address you entered and to the stream addresses inside it.
Whoever runs those servers can see your IP address and what you request, and
their privacy policy applies. We do not receive playlist addresses or channel
lists. Channel logos are loaded from addresses found in your playlist.
9. ADVERTISING CHOICES
- Where required (for example in the European Economic Area, the United
Kingdom and some US states), Google's consent form is shown when you first
open the app. If your region needs it, a "Privacy options" row appears in
Settings so you can review your choice at any time.
- You can delete or reset your advertising ID in Android settings (usually
Settings > Privacy > Ads).
- You can manage ad personalisation in your Google account at
https://adssettings.google.com.
10. CHILDREN
The app is not directed to children under 13, or under the higher minimum age
in your country. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If
you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will help.
11. HOW LONG DATA IS KEPT AND HOW TO DELETE IT
- Data on your phone is kept until you remove it, clear the app's storage or
uninstall.
- Analytics and ads data held by Google is identified only by random IDs that
are reset when you clear the app's data or reinstall. It is kept for the
retention period set in our Firebase project (at most 14 months for
event-level data) and then deleted or aggregated.
- To ask us to act on your data, e-mail [SUPPORT EMAIL]. Because this data is
not tied to your name, we may ask you for your advertising ID (shown in
Android settings) so that we can locate it.
12. SECURITY
Data sent to Google services is encrypted in transit (TLS). Pairing keys and
settings are kept in the app's private storage on your phone. No method of
storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute
security.
13. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Google processes data in many countries, including the United States. Google
relies on recognised transfer mechanisms such as the EU-US Data Privacy
Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.
14. YOUR RIGHTS
European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: you have the right to
access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your
personal data, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to
complain to your data protection authority. Our legal bases are your consent
where the law requires it (for example for advertising identifiers), and our
legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving a free app funded by
advertising.
United States (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and
other states with privacy laws): you may ask what personal information we
hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and opt out of "sale" or
"sharing" for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for
money. Sending advertising identifiers to Google through the ad SDK can count
as "sharing" under some state laws; use the controls in section 9 to opt out.
We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
To use any right, contact [SUPPORT EMAIL].
15. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If the change is
significant we will also tell you in the app or in the update notes.
